A School of Engineering faculty member and a researcher are a part of a team that has been awarded a multi-million dollar subcontract to help develop technology that is critical to the Department of Defense (DoD).

Fifth-year chemical engineering major Ashley Edwards has recently been recognized as the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) Cooperative and Experiential Education Division (CEED) 2025 Co-op Student of the Year Award winner. She was recognized at the CEED annual conference in Henderson, Nevada in February.

Senior mechanical engineering students were tasked with creating a vertical 3D printer for their senior design project. Their sponsor, Heart of Unlimited Boundaries (HUB), was looking for a vertical 3D printer but it did not exist on the market.

The University of Dayton School of Engineering is in its first year as a partner institution with the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME), a leading provider of scholarships and resources for underrepresented minorities pursuing engineering and computer science degrees.

Mechanical engineering student Clare Pitstick found her vocation in prosthetics and orthotics through the Grand Challenges Scholars Program, which aims to integrate global awareness and social skills into engineering education.

The University of Dayton’s Society of Sales Engineers (SSE) is on a fast track to success. With rapid growth and interest comes a change in their leadership model — SSE has recently changed from an academic student organization to a professional fraternity model.
